ABOUT

Kingsley’s Journal

Welcome to Kingsley’s Journal, where travel isn’t about ticking off landmarks—it’s about sinking into a place, tasting its food, and hearing its stories. This is my little space to share tales of slow travel, cultural gems, and those quiet moments that make a journey unforgettable.

Unrushed adventures, soulful stories, and a love for the world’s hidden corners

I’m Kingsley, or at least that’s what I’m going by here (sounds cooler than my real name, right?). This blog started as a beat-up notebook I carried through dusty souks, rainy European alleys, and sun-soaked vineyards. I’d scribble about the people I met—like the Sicilian fisherman who taught me how to cook octopus or the Kyoto tea master who laughed at my clumsy bow. Those moments, the ones that make you feel alive, they’re what this blog is all about.

It all kicked off a few years back when I realized I wasn’t cut out for the 9-to-5 grind. I wanted to see the world, but not in a rushed, selfie-stick-waving way. I wanted to linger—sip coffee in a Paris café for hours, wander a Moroccan market til I got lost, or just sit by a lake with a good book and no agenda. Slow travel, they call it. I call it living.

KingsleyBlog.com was born in a tiny apartment in Grand Forks, ND, between sips of too-strong coffee and stacks of travel journals. I wanted to share the magic of places most folks overlook—the hole-in-the-wall tavern with the best tapas, the quiet bench perfect for writing poetry, or the artisan weaving rugs like her grandma did a century ago. It’s not just about where I go, but how it feels to be there.

Expect stories about chasing cherry blossoms in Japan, haggling (badly) in Marrakech, or finding a perfect spot to read in Istanbul. There’s a bit of gastronomy—think fresh pasta in Italy or spicy pho in Hanoi—and a lot of love for local crafts and traditions. I’m no expert, just a curious wanderer who’s probably lost their passport at least once (true story).

This blog’s for you if you love deep stories, quirky city guides, or just wanna know where to find a quiet nook to think. Based out of 2800 S Columbia Rd Space 232, Grand Forks, ND, I’m always scribbling or planning the next trip. Drop me a line at +1 701-772-0984 or follow along on socials to join the adventure. Let’s find the stories that make the world feel a little smaller, a little warmer.

Happy wandering,

Kingsley
